Junior Singers

The Junior Singers was founded to give young musicians in the Foothills region a place where they can discover, develop, and share their love of singing in a fun, supportive, and musically rich environment. The Foothills Philharmonic Junior Singers (FPJS) is made up of two groups: Prelude (ages 6–7) and Cantabile (ages 8–12), each designed to meet singers at their stage of development while building strong musical foundations.

Through rehearsals, the Junior Singers explore a wide variety of music, including classical, folk, pop, gospel, show tunes, and other engaging repertoire chosen to inspire curiosity and joy in music-making. Alongside learning songs, singers are introduced to healthy vocal technique, listening skills, ensemble singing, and the basics of musicianship in a way that feels accessible and enjoyable.

The program emphasizes confidence, teamwork, and expression, helping children grow not only as singers but as performers who can listen, blend, and contribute to something larger than themselves. Regular performances give singers the opportunity to share what they are learning with family, friends, and the wider community, building pride and excitement in their musical growth.

The Junior Singers is led by Jeff Hibberd and accompanied by Kellee Bowie, whose leadership helps create a positive and encouraging environment where young singers can thrive.

If your child loves to sing, the Junior Singers offers a welcoming place to begin a lifelong journey in music.
