Vox Nova

Vox Nova was founded in the summer of 2023 by Sarah McLean and Tim Korthuis to create an opportunity for professional and experienced singers from the Foothills region to come together for high-quality choral performance. Built around a collaborative, project-based model, Vox Nova brings together accomplished musicians to explore challenging and engaging repertoire while maintaining a flexible rehearsal schedule.

Repertoire is distributed approximately one month before each performance, allowing members to prepare their parts independently. The ensemble then comes together for a small number of focused rehearsals in the days leading up to the performance, where the emphasis is on musical interpretation, ensemble blend, and artistic refinement rather than note learning. This approach enables Vox Nova to achieve a high standard of performance while respecting the busy schedules of its members.
